Everything you need to get the most out of localseotool.io — from setting up your first rank tracking grid to generating AI competitor analysis and finding local leads with real contact data.

Getting started

localseotool.io is a local SEO platform for agencies and marketers. It combines a Google Maps rank tracker, a local business lead finder, and AI-powered competitor analysis in one place.

  1. 1

    Create your account

Sign up at localseotool.io/signup — no credit card required. Your free plan includes one business, three keywords, and five reports per month.

  2. 2

    Add your business

Go to Businesses and click Add business. Search by name or paste a Google Maps URL. We pull your address, phone, website and category automatically from Google Places.

  3. 3

Add a keyword and configure your grid

Go to Keywords, select your business, and add the search term you want to track (e.g. "plumber near me"). Choose your grid size (3×3 to 13×13), shape (square, circle, diamond, cross or ring), and spacing.

  4. 4

    Run your first report

Go to Reports → New report, select your business and keyword, and click Run report. The grid map shows your Google Maps rank at every point — green for top 3, red for 21+.

Local rank tracking

localseotool.io's grid rank tracker checks your Google Maps ranking at every point across a city — not just one location. This is the only way to see the full picture of your local visibility.

Why grid tracking matters

A single rank number is misleading. You might rank #1 a mile from your office and #15 two miles away. The grid reveals where you're visible and where you need work.

Grid sizes

Choose from 3×3 (9 points) up to 13×13 (169 points). Larger grids give more coverage but take longer to run. A 5×5 or 7×7 grid is ideal for most local businesses.

Grid shapes

Square — full rectangular coverage. Circle — radial coverage around a centre. Diamond — rotated square. Cross — linear coverage along two axes. Ring — doughnut shape for outer-area analysis.

Rank colours

Green (1–3) — excellent visibility. Amber (8–10) — moderate. Red (21+) — effectively invisible. The map gives an instant visual summary.

Comparing reports

Use Schedules → Compare to place two reports side by side on synchronised maps. Hover any grid point to see rank changes between dates. Great for proving improvement to clients.

AI analysis on reports

After running a report, click the AI Analysis tab. Gemini analyses every competitor on the grid and returns a full breakdown — see the AI Analysis section for details.

Local lead finder

The lead finder searches Google Maps for businesses matching any keyword in any location. It then scrapes each business website to collect contact details and social links — building a complete, ready-to-contact prospect list.

Data collected for every business

Full address from Google Maps
Phone number
Website URL
Email (scraped from website)
Online booking URL & provider
Google Maps place URL
Social profiles: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, WhatsApp, Telegram
Service options (delivery, dine-in, takeout, etc.)
  1. 1

    Start a new search

Go to Leads → Find leads. Enter your keyword (e.g. "dentist"), city, state, and country.

  2. 2

    Wait for results

localseotool.io searches Google Maps and scrapes every business website in parallel. The search page shows live progress — typically 1–3 minutes for 200 results. You can navigate away and come back.

  3. 3

    Filter and review

Use the filter chips (Has phone, Has email, Has website) and rating filter to narrow results. All 200 businesses remain available — filters are applied client-side.

  4. 4

    Generate AI pitch

Click Generate on any row to have Gemini write a personalised cold outreach email using that business's real data — phone, email, social presence, booking status, and more.

  5. 5

    Export to CSV

Click Export CSV to download all filtered results (or only selected rows) as a spreadsheet. All columns are included — name, address, phone, email, website, booking, all social links, service options, and Maps URL.

AI analysis

localseotool.io uses Google Gemini for two AI features: competitor analysis on rank reports, and outreach pitch generation on the lead finder.

AI competitor analysis (Reports)

Available on every completed rank tracking report. Click the AI Analysis tab in the report detail page to trigger the analysis.

What it analyses

  • Competitor strengths and why they outrank you
  • Keyword opportunities hidden in competitor reviews, categories and services
  • Google Business Profile gaps and optimisation recommendations
  • Review acquisition strategy tailored to your category
  • Local signals — NAP consistency, citations, schema markup
  • Photo strategy recommendations
  • Prioritised action plan (high / medium / low impact)
  • Quick wins you can implement today

AI outreach pitch generator (Lead finder)

Available on every row in the lead results table. Click Generate to have Gemini write a personalised cold outreach email.

The AI uses the business's real data — name, category, location, phone, email, website status, booking links, and social media presence — to write a specific, relevant pitch. It identifies genuine gaps (e.g. missing email, no booking system, limited social presence) and frames your services as the solution. Always personalise before sending.

Automated scheduling

Schedules automatically run rank tracking reports on a recurring cadence so you never miss a ranking change.

  1. 1

    Create a schedule

Go to Schedules → Add schedule. Choose your business, keyword, frequency (daily, weekly or monthly), and the day/time to run.

  2. 2

    Receive email alerts

When a scheduled report completes you receive an email notification with a summary of rank changes. Configure your email in Settings.

  3. 3

    Compare over time

Go to any schedule and click Compare to open two of its reports side by side. Each grid point shows the rank delta — up, down, or unchanged.

Export & CSV

All data in localseotool.io can be exported. No limits on exports — download as many times as needed.

Lead CSV export

From any completed lead search, click Export CSV. The download includes every column: business name, categories, full address, city, state, country, phone, email, website, booking URL, booking provider, Google Maps URL, all social links, service options, keyword searched, and timestamp. Select specific rows to export a subset.

Report PDF export

From any rank tracking report, click Export to download a PDF showing the grid map, rank distribution chart, and top competitors list. Pro and Agency plans include white-label exports with your agency logo.

AI analysis export

The AI analysis in report detail can be exported as plain text, HTML or PDF. Useful for client deliverables — the HTML export is styled and ready to share.
